I am supposed to go south, from Alaska all the way to Peru..., but here I am finding myself
driving further North.
It's still very much winter here. The ice free roads are misleading, as one step off the road
you sink up to your hips into deep white snow. Not the powdery kind, but crusted on the surface and heavy beneath it
